Territorial. These represent the hierarchy of dark beings who are strategically assigned by Satan himself to influence and control nations, communities, and even families. Certain demonic forces mass to different regions to fortify particular kinds of evil. 2 Ideological. These concern Satan’s worldview through philoso phies that influence culture and society. These strongholds are portrayed in 2 Corinthians 10:5 “Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowl edge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” 3 Personal. They are things that Satan builds to influence your personal life—personal sin, your thoughts, your feelings, your attitudes, and your behavior patterns. 4 Divine. These are strongholds erected by Jehovah-Gibbor to protect the kingdom and its warriors. (See Psalm 18:2–3; Prov erbs 18:10.) Military. These are strongholds that are put up by the army of God (you and I) to protect itself from enemy fire. (See 1 Samuel 23:14, 19.)

3. You must cast down imaginations. Part of this phrase comes from the Greek word kathaireo , which means “casting down” or “smitting down.” Imaginations is a derivative of the Greek word for “image” ( ekon ); it involves the two ideas of representation and manifestation. This term denotes a tool used for engraving or to cut into something which produces an image, which is then used to make an impression of that which the instrument engraved.
