God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved. —Acts 2:41–47, emphasis added For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the govern ment shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. —Isaiah 9:6–7, emphasis added That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to usward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places … which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. —Ephesians 1:17–20, 23, emphasis added T he C hurch I s the O fficial E mbassy of the K ingdom of H eaven In the natural an embassy is a building containing the offices of an ambas sador and staff of diplomatic representatives, a place where ambassadors meet, a diplomatic center where policies and mandates are communicated, a place for debriefing its ambassadors, and a place where ambassadors receive diplomatic immunity. In looking at the church as our headquarters, we can see how, in many ways, it serves the same purposes for the army of God that an embassy does for its ambassadors. While God calls us soldiers, we are also ambassadors of the kingdom. We are acting as godly representatives in the earth.
