As Acts 16:16–26 tells the story of how Paul interrupted a town’s spiritual, educational, economic system by calling out a soothsaying demon, we too are to go into dark places and cause “exceeding trouble,” teaching them the customs of the kingdom of heaven that are contrary to the laws of the kingdom of darkness. Prayer invades darkness. Infiltrate enemy territory, saturating it with the light of God. Our presence should be invasive. Light invades darkness, leaving no places for dark shadows. Acts 8:1–24 tells us how Philip went into the city of Samaria and had the demons running out of the possessed people, crying out with loud voices. They were terrified of the authority that Philip had. He freed the people of debilitating diseases and healed them of their afflictions. He spoke the name of Jesus and of the kingdom of God, and many in this dark city came to the light and were baptized. Implement and establish the behaviors, characteristics, and directives of the kingdom. We are to put into action the poli cies of God in the earth realm. Binding and loosing is one way of implementing kingdom customs in the earth. The following verses show how the kingdom can be implemented and its effect on the people in the earth: Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellow ship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. And all that believed were together, and had all things common; and sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men , as every man had need. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, praising 3. 4.
