True Dominion Starts With Knowing Who You Are
E . M. Bounds once said, “God’s great plan for the redemption of mankind is as much bound up to prayer for its prosperity and success as when the decree creating the movement was issued from the Father, bearing on its frontage the imperative, universal and eternal condition, ‘Ask of me, and I will give thee the heathen for thy inheritance and the uttermost part of the earth for thy possession.’” 1 As a believer, you hold the key to advancing the kingdom of heaven and destroying the works of the enemy. According to Matthew 18:18, “Whatso ever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” This text speaks of the legalities and technicalities of the kingdom, relative to your authority on Earth. You are God’s official agent here on Earth. Therefore, whatever you allow, heaven allows, and whatever you disallow, heaven disallows. In part 3, “Binding the Strongman,” we will talk more about how to operate within the rules of the kingdom to produce victory in the earth. But right now, I want you to understand the power behind two principle war weapons: prayer and the Word of God. The combination of the two provide the one-two punch that ensures the enemy is knocked out of your life, family, business, ministry, community, and nation every time. The Bible gives us example after example of how true this is. We are going to look at one example of how prayer changes a whole nation’s allegiance and another example of how the Word silences the enemy.
