This spirit is responsible for the passing down of elements of a culture, philosophies, behaviors, and habits from generation to generation. This spirit works with the spirit of religion and the spirit of unbelief. It forms a strong hold that facilitates the rejection of truth, thus hindering true worship and revival. This spirit is a powerful gatekeeper that prohibits the preaching of the gospel within a particular culture, region, or nation, and initiates and instigates both the persecution and martyrdom of any child of God who dares to venture into its jurisdiction with the gospel.
Scriptural reference for the spirit of tradition Mark 7:8; Colossians 2:8
