from a defensive position in the realm of the spirit to an offensive one. (See Daniel 9:1–12:3; Ephesians 6:11–18; Revelation 12:4, 7–9.) I have discovered that although I had been praying earnestly and scripturally in the past, many of my prayers were either sabotaged or coun terattacked by the enemy. As I prayed and asked God why, He showed me that I was praying fervently but not effectively because I was praying amiss. I was praying from an incorrect perspective and position. Satan was able to gain the upper hand in my warfare because I ignorantly prayed “earth bound” prayers. He told me that I needed to fight my battles and wage warfare where it really belongs: in the heavenlies. He also reminded me that I was seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus, above principalities and powers. (See Ephesians 2:20–22; 3:6.) I then realized that they were not above me, oppressing and controlling my destiny with their diabolical activities. I was above them! Armed and dangerous with this revelation, I was able to enforce my prayers with much authority and confidence in knowing that whatsoever I desired, when I prayed I would receive favorable results. (See Mark 11:23–24.) As you delve into this carefully prepared manual for spiritual warfare, there are some tools that you will need at all times. No soldier can rely on another’s rations, weapons, or experience. It is time for you to get yourself armed. You are well into your training. As a matter of fact, the war is raging on even now. Below are several instructions that you must hold on to as you engage in spiritual warfare. 1. Make certain you have the right tools. We will be covering a lot of ground in this book. You may have come across other books that give you all of the Scriptures and prayers written out for you to recite in order to address certain issues and spiritual maladies. Since the intention of this book is to instruct and train, I will not always do that here. Get ready to receive some on-the-job training . I want you to get familiar with your own battleground, identify your own strengths and weaknesses, and be well acquainted with your Commander in Chief—Jehovah-Gibbor. Therefore, you will need a personal copy of God’s Word, the sword. You will also find that in times of revelation you will need a prayer journal or even a recording device to quickly document the rhema word God may give you concerning a
