It is also one of the least-reported crimes in part because many victims fear how they might be treated if they divulge what has happened. (See Judges 19:22–28.) R ebellion Rebellion is to the kingdom of darkness as righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit is to the kingdom of light. It is the very foundation upon which Satan built his kingdom of sin and iniquity. Rebellion is a demonic disposition that leads to defiance of authority, insurrection, and violence. (See 1 Samuel 15:23.) R egret The weapon of regret is a satanic abortive weapon because it keeps you connected to your past rather than living for the future. Remember, yesterday is in the tomb, and tomorrow is yet in the womb. Regret led Judas to hang himself. His other option would have been confession, repentance, and resto ration—three acts that had the potential of salvaging his ministry and giving him a future. Regrets led people to live with “I wish,” “what if,” and “if only.” (See Matthew 27:1–5.) R ejection When God created mankind, He created both male and female in His image. I believe that one of the things that makes man like God is the inherent desire to be recognized, valued, accepted, and appreciated. Rejection undermines that natural, God-given characteristic that predisposes each one of us with the desire to be loved, cherished, and appreciated not for what we do, have, or attain, but for just being an individual who has been fearfully and wonder fully made. Rejection is one of the ways the enemy undermines self-worth, self-esteem, self-image, purpose, and potential. Rejection comes in two basic forms: covert and overt. Covert can be characterized by someone saying they love and support you but never showing it. Overt is more obvious. It comprises verbal, physical, or social ostracizing, isolation, discrimination, and segregation.
