He is the author of the New age text “The Book of Knowledge: The Keys of Enoch” and has written and translated over 15 books, including commentaries on ancient mystical and gnostic texts including the Pistis Sophia.

Former professor at California State University, Northridge and California State Universit y, Los Angeles, his educational background includes a Ph.D. from the University of California and a second Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. He was technical consultant for Sidney Sheldon’s bestseller, The Doomsday Conspiracy (1992). He has spoken before professional audiences throughout the world, speaking in Africa, South America, Europe, and the Pacific. In the capacity

of an international scientific consultant, he has been featured in numerous film documentaries, and has appeared on television programs throughout the world.

Dr. Hurtak also holds the post of Research Director, Great Pyramid of Giza Research Association. He is also co-author of the book entitled The End of Suffering, which he wrote with physicist and parapsychologist Russell Targ. The basis for the book “The Keys of Enoch” was triggered in 1973 when Hurtak described that as he was praying a great being appeared calling himself Enoch, and asked him if he was ready to go into 'the Father's midst'. A great field of light was placed upon his body and he sped upwards to the stars and heaven to Arcturus, the major programming centre of the galactic council serving "the Father' on this side of the galaxy which he was told is under the direction of the Council of Nine, the governing body of the local universe.
