A. The prayers of the saints
1. The golden vials store the prayers of the saints 2. Offering the incense was presenting prayers to God in heaven 3. The saints ’ prayers will be opened and offered in chapter 8 at the golden altar 4. Offering incense (prayers) is part of the morning ritual
THE LAMB AND THE MORNING SERVICE
A. The lamb is introduced at the heavenly Temple (Rev. 5:6)
1. The lamb is a metaphor for Christ 2. Christ was born in Bethlehem (Matt. 2:1) and laid in the manger (Luke 2:7) 3. Christ was called the Lamb of God (John 1:29), and was crucified at Passover (Matt. 26:2)
B. The Lamb (Jesus) is a slain Lamb
1. The word slain means, “ to butcher, to slaughter, to slay violently ” 2. The Greek word amnos is used four times in the New Testament as lamb 3. In Revelation the word arnion is used - meaning a lambkin or a Passover pet lamb 4. Jesus is identified through the book of Revelation as the Lamb ( arnion )
Note: In the Temple are a “ lamb in the morning ” and a “lamb in the evening ” (Exo. 29:39)
C. The lamb has total authority
1. The lamb has seven horns (Rev. 5:6) 2. The lamb has seven eyes (Rev. 5:6) 3. What are the seven horns and eyes?
“ And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.” - Isaiah 11:2
