THE SPIRIT OF LEADERSHIP which also reestablished our place of authority and power on the Earth, which the Creator had given us. The concept of a place of authority was also used by Jesus when the two disciples asked him about greatness and leader ship positions in His kingdom, and he replied, “To sit at my right or left is not for me to grant. These places [positions of authority or places of authority] belong to those for whom they have been prepared by my Father.” The Greek word for “sit” is kathizo , meaning “to seat down, i.e. set (fig. appoint).” 22 “L ET NOT YOUR HEART BE TROUBLED ....I N M Y F ATHER ’ S HOUSE ARE MANY MANSIONS .” A similar concept occurs in the biblical book of Jude, in which the author talks about positions of authority given by God to angels who subsequently abandoned them. The vari ous translations below indicate that they left a place of author ity and use imagery similar to “mansions,” including “home,” “abode,” and “habitation.” And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their own home —these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day. ( NIV , emphasis added) And angels who did not keep their own domain , but abandoned their proper abode , He has kept in eternal bonds under darkness for the judgment of the great day. ( NASB , emphasis added) And the angels which kept not their first estate , but left their own habitation , he hath reserved in everlasting
