Secrets from Beyond The Grave

The destruction of transgressors and of sinners shall be together,

The many references stating that the wicked will be destroyed, consumed, and perish usually allude to the destruction of the wicked while they are living on Earth--not to their annihilation when they enter the lake of fire. Following the Great White Throne Judgment, sinners are cast into the lake of fire. Following this event, God creates a new heaven and a new earth, and the holy city, New Jerusalem, descends from God out of heaven onto the new earth. After this gemstone-jeweled city rests on the earth, we read the following statement: But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death. --Revelation 21:8 Later, John describes the fact that in the New Jerusalem there is a river of life and a tree of life on each side of the river. There is no more curse on the earth and no need of the sun, because the Lamb lights the city (Rev. 22:1-5). Notice that the river of life with the two trees is located outside the gates of the fifteen-hundred-square-mile city: Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city. But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie. --Revelation 22:14-15 Why are these individuals--"dogs" (a phrase in Judaism for an unclean person, not a literal animal), sorcerers (the Greek is pharmakos , drugs and potions), whoremongers (sexual perverts and perversion), along with liars, murderers, and idol worshipers--still being identified as outside the city after the earth has been purified (2 Pet. 3:7)?
