10. Healing Through Fasting (Isa. 58:8) When you fast in the way that God leads you, He says that "your light shall break forth like the morning, your healing shall spring forth speedily, and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the L ORD shall be your rear guard.” According to this verse, you will be healed when you fast, but better yet, lasting can serve as preventative medicine. It says, “The L ORD shall be your rear guard.” In other words, sickness can’t sneak up on you. God’s got your back. While everyone else is getting swine flu, you’re healthy. While there’s no cure for the common cold, you sail through cold season with not so much as one symptom, sniffle, or cough. Then there are just those times when nothing else will do except a sacrifice of going without food, a time to surrender your flesh to the Spirit of God that brings life. Jesus talks about this in Matthew 17:21: “This kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.” 11. Healing Through The Word (Ps. 107:20) The Bible says that God “sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions” (Ps. 107:20). We also know that God’s word does not return to Him void. It accomplishes everything for which it was sent (Isa. 55:11). If He spoke healing to you, then you are healed.
