they should be quiet; but they cried out all the more, saying, "Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!" —Matthew 20:30-31 These men put a demand on Jesus. They cried out even when the multitude was rebuking them, telling them to be silent. They had to press past the opposition of the crowd to receive their miracle. If they had remained silent, they would not have received a miracle. They had to put a demand on the anointing. Jesus was passing by. If they did not put a demand on His anointing, He would have passed them by. It is like drawing money from a bank. You must go to the teller with a withdrawal slip and make a demand on the account. That is why they are called demand deposit accounts, or DDAs. If you never make a demand on the account, you will never withdraw anything from the account. A church should never allow a ministry gift to come in their midst and minister without putting a demand on the anointing. Then He went out from there and came to His own country, and His disciples followed Him. And when the Sabbath had come, He began to teach in the synagogue. And many hearing Him were astonished, saying, "Where did this Man get these things? And what wisdom is this which is given to Him, that such mighty works are performed by His hands!
