Prayers That Activate Blessings

We may not understand why a person is in a position of authority, but God's ways are higher than ours, so as we are subject to God, we are subject to man. Even Jesus found favor in the eyes of earthly authority (Luke 2:52).

SUBMIT TO AUTHORITY AND BE BLESSED

So often we want to do things our own way. We even attach God's name to it, saying that we are standing up for Him. But God wants us to honor those in authority over us. Daniel is a great example of a righteous man who rose in influence in a heathen nation by being submitted to the rulers of the land yet staying obedient to God. In turn, Daniel had the king's ear for any request. He influenced the laws and codes of the day, and he was protected by angels when his enemies set a trap to take him out. Daniel asked for special permission to not be defiled by the dietary practices of the heathen nation that held him captive. By asking for this, he showed submission to the authority that was over him during that time. But he was also submitted to God by his faith that if he remained obedient to God, he would be blessed in such a way that would bring him favor. And he was right. The Bible says that after Daniel interpreted a dream for King Nebuchadnezzar, the king fell prostrate before Daniel and lavished honor upon him, giving him the highest place in the kingdom (Dan. 2:46-49). When you submit to authority, you position yourself for the blessing of God. You also are placing yourself under those who have the authority to pronounce blessing over you through prophecy, words of encouragement, promotion, and correction.
