Plucking the Eagle's Wings
Hebrew Parallels Associated with Early American History
he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth." (Isaiah 11:11,12) The Spanish concentrated on converting the Indians of Central and South America. They also took their gold and enslaved them. The English began, timidly at first, exploring North America. In 1497, an Italian named John Cabot sailed from Bristol, England aboard the Matthew.
