Plucking the Eagle's Wings
America: God's Prophetic Vineyard
Communism. The leopard is the third beast and the German Nazis were the Third Reich. The army of Germany, as did Alexander the Great centuries before moved with the speed of a leopard to conquer surrounding nations. There is a final beast that will arise after the leopard that will be the kingdom of a man called the antichrist. It will be the final beast, the last world empire before the return of Christ. I think that the interpretation of the prophecy of the eagle's wing; representing the United States has some merit. Yet, there is a final theory that I believe refers clearly to America. It is the theory of the transplanted vineyard and will be the theme I want to carry throughout this book. The Theory of God's Vineyard The most exciting theory regarding America in prophecy comes from comparing Isaiah 5:1-7 with Matthew 21:33-44. Here we see that God planned to take His chosen vineyard (Israel) and give it to another people, or another nation. The prophet Isaiah penned these words over 2,600 years ago, suggesting this: "Now will I sing to my well beloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My well beloved hath a vineyard in a very fruitful hill: And he fenced it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it and also made a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes. And now, inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard. What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? Wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought forth wild grapes? And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall thereof, and it shall be broken down; And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned, nor digged; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it. For the vineyard of the Lord of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant..." (Isaiah 5:1-7) Hundreds of years later, Jesus took the parable of the vineyard
