Plucking the Eagle's Wings

Plucking the Eagle's Wings

Missionaries tell me that as they minister in crusades overseas, thousands in attendance are typically younger than thirty years old! In fact, every great revival in world history has begun among young people. The final revival in America will be no different. America's New Spiritual Army As the children rejoiced at the eastern gate when Jesus rode the colt through the city, the offended Pharisees demanded that Jesus quiet down the crowd. Jesus rebuked them saying, "If these do not praise me the rocks will cry out! Have you not heard it said that out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?" Christ quoted from Psalms 8:2, which states, "Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou has ordained strength, because of thine enemies that thou mightest avenge thy enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger." It is interesting that Psalms states that praise from the "babes" will avenge "thy enemies." The prophecy speaks of God's enemies. When we praise the Lord, He arises from His Holy habitation and goes after His enemies! Moses said, "Let God arise and let his enemies be scattered" (Psalms 68:1). Notice that it is the "mouths of babes and sucklings" that strengthens God to go after His enemies! In Psalms we learn that incredible spiritual power is released when praise is released from the lips of God's people. "Let the high praises of God be in their mouth and a two edged sword in their hand. To execute vengeance ... to bind their kings with chains and their nobles with fetters of iron." (Psalms 149:6-7) Throngs of protesting youth have toppled some East European Communist nations. In Romania and Bulgaria, thousands of Christian youth prayed, sang and rebuked the spirits that controlled their nations. Consequently, wicked leaders were overthrown and leaders who allowed religious freedom were promoted into high government posts. This endtime spiritual conflict with its attack on social-moral values will be won or lost through prayer or the lack thereof. In the election of 1980, evangelical Christians prayed, fasted, and voted. Consequently, Ronald Reagan was elected. He inspired the nation to put aside pessimism and embrace hope and patriotism. The Bible that Reagan placed his hand upon at his inauguration belonged to his mother.
