Plucking the Eagle's Wings

Plucking the Eagle's Wings

After declaring independence from Britain and England, George Washington became the first President of the United States. The founding documents that would govern the nation and guarantee freedom to its people were drafted. The Bible and Judeo-Christian beliefs profoundly influenced the foundation of the Republic. Beginning in 1776, the story of the world's greatest Gentile nation unfolded. As with ancient Israel's first king, both King Saul and George Washington were taller than their contemporaries. Both hesitated in becoming the leaders of their respected nations, and both were noted for their successful battles. America has come full circle and today another "George W." is President. Our first President, George Washington, was a Methodist and George W. Bush is Methodist. Our first President was nominated in Philadelphia, and so was George W. Bush. Washington and his wife Martha enjoyed getting away and spending time on their plantation in Mount Vernon. Bush and his wife Laura enjoy getting away and spending time on their ranch in Texas. I believe it is clear, even to the casual reader, that these parallels are not mere human coincidence. Such patterns are seldom found in American history, unless the events point to a strong prophetic season of purpose. God sets up times and seasons, and He sets up or removes kings. Perhaps Mr. Gore's approach would not have been in God's perfect plan for this prophetic season. For example, Gore has been known to lean toward a New Age type of philosophy and toward the United Nations' vision of globalism. My prophetic studies indicate that there will be a future seventh empire that will grip the nations of the old Roman Empire into its hands. This new superpower is scheduled to arise between 2004 to 2008, if all continues as planned. Mr. Gore's global ideology would better fit a
