The third letter, shin, is the most interesting of the entire alphabet. Shin is the twenty-first letter and it represents the name of God (Shaddai). The letter shin appears on every mezuzah in the world. The Hebrew letter equivalent to "W" in form is the letter shin. As far as sound, the equivalent is the letter vav, which is translated back into the English alphabet as the letter "V" or "W." Yet, the ancient form of the letter shin, in the time of Moses, was actually written like the English W is today. While these meanings are interesting, they should not be overly emphasized since many English names also contain the letters beit and shin. Also, it should be noted that this is not the Hebrew meaning of the name Bush, but the meaning of the symbols of the Hebrew letters. The Name Gore The name "Gore" transliterated into into Hebrew. The name "Bush" transliterated Hebrew. The Hebrew letters have been reversed to read from left to right!
