Plucking the Eagle's Wings

The Eagle in Bible Prophecy

As professors became more secular and promoted humanism, communism, and atheism, young minds were corrupted with teachings contrary to the Bible (2 Corinthians 11:3). American educators used their platforms to spread their agnostic worldviews, and their students, in

turn, promoted the same faithless views. Warnings to a Faithless Generation

Jesus told a parable about a woman oppressed by an adversary (Luke 18:1-7). She petitioned a judge to intervene, but the judge ignored her. Finally, after she continually called upon him for help, he granted her petition. Christ summarized the parable by asking, "When the son of man cometh, shall he find faith upon the earth" (Luke 18:8)? This seems to be a strange question, considering the spread of Christianity throughout the world. More people profess Christianity than ever before; yet, the very nations that once produced firebrands for the Gospel and sent forth powerfully anointed missionaries are no longer experiencing revival. Jesus previously taught the disciples that, "Men ought always to Pray and not to faint" (Luke 18:1). Christ was warning about the final days when believers will become weary in prayer, and quit before receiving answers. Christ stressed the importance of persistence and patience when waiting for answers to prayer. Twentieth century history exhibits what can happen to those who do not persevere in prayer. Britain, once a center of European revival, sent famous missionaries like Dr. David Livingstone to the spiritually dark continent of Africa. The Protestant Reformation began with the German, Martin Luther. Holland was the home of Corrie Ten Boom, whose family hid Jews during World War 11, only to be killed or imprisoned for their actions. Yet today, much of Europe is virtually paralyzed in unbelief with Christian churches being turned into mosques, and other churches functioning as mere spiritual museums. Britain, Germany, and Holland stand today as examples of what can happen when Christians grow weary in prayer and turn to unbelief. One missionary said that Amsterdam, Holland might very well be the most morally wicked city in the world. In broad daylight, a man can walk the streets and select a prostitute from a storefront window. The government distributes free drugs to addicts. They simply stop by street corner pharmaceutical trucks equipped to administer their fixes.
