16 THE PROPHETIC IMPLICATION OF ELECTION 2000

The Post-Election Patterns of President George W. Bush

Six days after the 1992 presidential election, I was putting the final touches on a series of messages for our annual fall convention in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. On Monday night at approximately 10:30 p.m., a strong inspiration from the Lord moved deeply in my spirit. I reached for a pen and wrote, "The same spirit that came upon Ahab and Jezebel in the Old Testament is coming to Washington, D.C." I was stunned by what I had written but was convinced that it was a word from the Holy Spirit. Eight years later, it was clear that the message was from the Lord because of the patterns that followed between 1992 and 2000. For those who are unfamiliar with the Biblical story of Ahab and Jezebel, they were a husband and wife who ruled in ancient Israel when Elijah was Israel's prophet.
