Various other women charged him with sexual misconduct; yet, the same feminists who were outraged by Thomas took a Clinton vacation. Some defended the president by saying, "It is simply a weakness in his character." Environmentalists demand the protection of the rain forests and the spotted owl; yet, how many of them speak up to protect an unborn baby? Poachers are fined thousands of dollars; yet, abortionists are subsidized with government funds to kill unborn children. The double standard has become commonplace. John Wrote: "Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hates you" (1 John 3:13). The Christian message is offensive to those who love sin. The Bible teaches that perverted sexual acts are wrong, so it offends the alternative lifestyle crowd. The Bible teaches that God ordains human life and that He knows infants before they are formed in the womb, so this offends the pro-abortion crowd. Bible prophets predict that, during the tribulation, many will die, one third of the world's water will be polluted and one third of the plant life will be destroyed, so it offends the environmentalists. In the Bible, Hebrew prophets rebuked sin, so they were offensive. Scripture indicates that the ancient Hebrews desired acceptance by their neighbors. So they worshiped foreign idols (Judges 2:11-12), practiced homosexuality (Judges 19:1-30), and allowed their newborn children to be passed through the fire of the idol Molech (1 Kings 11:1 7). They worshiped trees and built groves to honor the earth god (1 Kings 14:15). Many Americans would feel comfortable around those compromised Hebrews who embraced idolatry, same sex relations, infant murder, and earth worship. These people would be hailed as open minded, tolerant, and politically correct today. The Hebrew God was not made of wood or stone. He manifested Himself in flashing fire and was seen through His mighty miracles. The power of life and death were in His hands and He parted the Red Sea with His breath (Psalms 18:15). His presence made mountains shake and people tremble (Nahum 1:5). Hebrew prophets fell on the ground, fell into trances and witnessed living creatures near the sapphire throne of
