Plucking the Eagle's Wings

Plucking the Eagle's Wings

identify these two men as two olive trees. One is Jewish and one is Gentile. Enoch lived hundreds of years before Abraham; therefore, he is a Gentile. Elijah, on the other hand, was a Jew. So we have one witness representing the Gentile olive branch, and one representing the Jewish olive branch. Paul alludes to two olive trees, and the two witnesses are identified with the analogy of two olive trees. The Final Re-grafting The re-grafting process will begin when the Gentile branch is removed. Just how will God remove the Gentile branch? The Gentile church will complete its final work of harvesting souls around the world, and then the end will come. At the predestined time, the conclusion of the age of grace will climax and the fullness of the Gentiles will occur. Afterward, the catching away of the church will transpire. "For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel, and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air and so shall we ever be with the Lord." (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17) Immediately after this catching away, the two witnesses will appear in Israel. This season of prophetic history will combine two major events. First, the catching away of the church will conclude the fullness of the Gentiles and the dispensation of the grace of God. The Gentile olive branch will be plucked from the olive tree. Second, the natural branch, Israel, will begin to be re-grafted at the appearance of the two witnesses. The 144,000 Jews are called the first fruits of the Lord (Revelation 14:3-4). The catching away of the church is known by many Christians as the Rapture. It is referred to in Ephesians 1:9-10 as the "gathering together unto him." At this glorious event, also called the "blessed hope" (Titus 2:13), the dead in Christ will be raised and the living saints will be caught up to meet the Lord in the air. At that moment, God will remove the Gentile branch from the old olive tree, and He will send two Old Testament prophets, one a Jew and one a Gentile, to Israel. Enoch and Elijah will lead a Divine mission to the Jewish remnant in Israel in the same manner that Peter (a Jew) ministered to the Jews, and Paul
