Healing the Breach Between the Jews and Gentiles

rebirth of Israel. That same year, the American Gentile church experienced its own restoration as great revivals spread throughout the land, many of which were held in large outdoor tents. Israel's first church was also held in a wilderness tent. It is exciting to note that, on some dates when prophetic events transpired in Israel, there were parallel spiritual events taking place in America! Here are some examples: • In 1948, Israel was restored. Between 1948 and 1955, a spiritual restoration in America began to take place, in many cases, at huge tent meetings. • In 1967, the city of Jerusalem was reunited as Israel's capital. The reunification physically took place as a giant concrete wall was broken down, uniting east and west Jerusalem. In 1967, the Charismatic renewal in America began breaking down denominational walls as the Holy Spirit visited many churches in North America. • In the 1990s, the latter rains began returning to Israel and the barren places blossomed like a rose (Isaiah 35:1). In the 1990s, American churches blossomed spiritually as the Holy Spirit moved across the nation. In the 1990s, Jews returned to Israel from the north (Russia). In Israel, they discovered their Jewish roots and began to study the Hebrew language and their Hebrew heritage. Likewise, in the 1990s, many American Christians began to discover their Jewish roots by studying the Hebrew language, feasts, customs, and culture. I believe that America is God's end-time vineyard, a leading Gentile nation that is taking the message of Christ to the nations. Jesus said that when the Gospel of the Kingdom has been taken to every nation, then the end would come (Matthew 24:14). According to my understanding of eschatology, or end-time prophecy, when the work of the Gentile branch is complete, its spiritual assignment will be taken over by the Jewish branch. This analogy refers to Israel being represented by an olive tree that had a new branch grafted into it because the Jews temporarily rejected their Messiah. Another issue comes into play here, which has to do with the rapture, or the church being caught up to meet the Lord. Israel's spiritual role can come about only after the rapture of the Gentile church. This will happen at the beginning of the
