Plucking the Eagle's Wings
to Christians, and many Christians are beginning to understand their Old Testament roots. Many Pentecostal and Charismatic congregations are beginning to have Hebraic worship. Christians are using Jewish tools of worship at specific times in services and during Jewish festival seasons. For example: • Men blow the shofar and the ram's horn as a call to worship. • Christians wear a tallit (prayer shawl) during times of prayer. • During certain songs, tambourines are played. • Beautiful banners with spiritual emblems and Hebrew names hang in churches. • Hebraic worship teams and drama teams are being formed. • There is a new emphasis on the Hebraic style of music and singing. Some criticize the use of Hebrew tools of worship and say that ministers are attempting to bring ancient Jewish customs into the Christian church. Yet, in prophecy, it is clear that God plans to merge the Gentile branch of the church with Zion in the last days. The Gentile Christians and Messianic Jews will become one in Jerusalem during the one thousand year reign of Christ on earth (Revelation 20:4). During the one thousand year reign of Christ, known as the millennial reign, we will see and hear: • shofars (trumpets) being blown as we worship in Jerusalem (Isaiah 27:13) • people wearing Jewish skirts in Jerusalem (Zechariah 8:23) • the Feast of Tabernacles being celebrated (Zechariah 14:16) • sacrifices being offered in the new Temple in Jerusalem (Ezekiel 43-47) • a new Priesthood in charge of the Temple in Jerusalem (Ezekiel 45) • people keeping the Sabbath and the new moon (Isaiah 66:23) It is apparent to me that Jewish worship in Christian churches around the world is visible evidence that God is preparing to unite His people for the future reign of Christ on earth. Christ will rule from Jerusalem—not Washington, D.C. The center of the nations will be 170
