Abraham Lincoln also received warnings. His secretary urged him not to go to Ford's Theater the night of his assassination. Some claim that John Kennedy's secretary warned him not to go to Dallas. I have learned to listen to God's still, small voice concerning travel plans. I have also discovered that my wife has a type of inner radar that helps her discern impending danger. (A woman is seldom wrong when she judges a situation by her senses.) 4. Claim the promises in Scripture and pray. One of the most beautiful promises in the Bible is in Psalms 91. It pronounces God's plan of protection from every form of danger. Scripture states, "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper" (Isaiah 54:17). An entire security team cannot defend a leader as well as one angel of the Lord! Let this be the promise of those who fear the Lord: "The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him and delivereth them" (Psalms 34:7). 5. Form a prayer covering. Our ministry has a prayer group of over 700 intercessors that pray daily for our ministry and our protection. Christian leaders need a personal group of individuals who will stand with them in prayer. These prayers will form a prayer covering. A president also needs a group of true believers to intercede for wisdom and protection. Good advice for any president would be to select a group of true men and women of God who come to the White House for periods of time simply to pray. This practice is also advisable for members of Congress. All Christians are Biblically responsible to pray for those in leadership. Paul wrote: "I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable behavior in the sight of God our Savior" (I Timothy 2:1-3). May our national leaders repent for the sins of the fathers, and
