Plucking the Eagle's Wings
The Zero Cycle and the Deaths of American Presidents
2000 have to break it again? Scripture says that the iniquity of the fathers continues to the third and fourth generation. Therefore, the president elected in 2000 would prophetically conclude the fourth generation. The President Elected on the Year 2000 The 2000 election was unlike any other in our recent history. No one could predict the winner. The Northeast and West Coast states chose the Democratic candidate and the Southern and Midwestern states chose the Republican. Contrasting opinions from each side reflected America's moral and cultural divide. During the Civil War, America was also severely divided. The issues of constitutional rights and secession were argued, but at the core of the conflict, it was the definition of life that divided the country. African-American slaves were denied the dignity of human life in the name of economic convenience, much as unborn children today are denied the right to live in the name of personal right to convenience. Regarding the deaths of our presidents, some people believe that whatever will be, will be. Others believe that there is a specific time appointed for one to die. One Scripture disproves this view. It asks, "Why shouldest thou die before thy time" (Ecclesiastes 7:17)? Solomon implied that it was possible to die prematurely. In the book of Job, Satan invaded Job's life and brought calamity. Satan wanted to kill Job, but the Lord said, "You can attack his body, but you cannot take his life" (Job 2:4-7). It was Job's covenant relationship with God that caused a protective wall to stand between the enemy and Job's life! In light of this, we can go to Scripture to understand how the "zero curse" can be broken. First, personal and national repentance is needed. We must denounce the innocent blood that has been shed and ask for forgiveness. Second, we must make right any wrong. Our instruction comes from the story of King David. When he was king, the nation of Israel was under a curse. David realized this and knew that it had to be broken, so he followed God's instruction and broke the curse. David Broke the Curse in Gibeon Second Samuel 21 tells a heartening story. There was a famine in
