Plucking the Eagle's Wings

Eighty years later, Abraham Lincoln worked to preserve the nation from collapse. The Cross on the Mall An aerial view of Israel's wilderness camp formed the shape of a cross. Additionally, an aerial view of the Washington Mall forms the shape of a cross. It is difficult to determine for certain whether the Washington, D.C. Mall was purposely designed to reflect the wilderness camp. However, throughout this book, the many remarkable Hebraic and American parallels and cycles seem to have been Divinely planned. Strange Prophetic Numbers and Cycles There is another series of patterns that Israel and America share. These patterns are determined by using Biblical numbers. 1. The thirteenth year Some consider thirteen to be a number that represents bad luck. Some hotels do not have a thirteenth floor. But the number thirteen represents a very important year in the life of a Jewish male. On the thirteenth year (plus one day) of a Jewish male's life, he is inducted into manhood through a ceremony called a Bar Mitzvah. The only record of Christ's youth is when He debated the scribes and doctors in the Temple at the age of twelve (Luke 2:42-47). It was customary at that age for young men to begin discussing the Law and questioning their elders as they prepared for their transition into manhood. Israel actually had a total of thirteen tribes, although we usually hear the number twelve. Jacob had twelve sons, yet his son Levi did not receive an inheritance of land and wealth because he and his descendants were to live and serve in the Temple. Joseph's two sons were Ephraim and Manesseh. They were counted among the twelve sons of Jacob. So technically, there were thirteen tribes that entered the Promised Land. Early America had thirteen colonies in the same way that Israel had thirteen tribes. Originally there was one colony called Virginia, the Old Dominion, named after the Virgin Queen Elizabeth I. Over time, the colonies formed states like Massachusetts (in New England), Pennsylvania (in the Mid-Atlantic), the Carolinas, and Georgia. The number thirteen was used symbolically at times in American history. For example:
