different directions. A prayer of agreement only requires two people. In the Torah, God required two or three witnesses to establish a crime (Deut. 17:6). By the agreement of two or three witnesses, every word is established, or settled (Deut. 19:15). Prayer agreement must be more than agreeing with the mind or with words; it must be an agreement deep within your spirit—an assurance and unity that cannot be broken by outward circumstances that may appear to be working contrary to your prayers. 5. You must ask the Father in Jesus’s name. Under the first covenant, Hebrew men approached God in prayer by addressing Him as the “God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob” (Exod. 3:16; 6:3; 32:13; 33:1; 1 Chron. 29:18; 2 Chron. 30:6). These three names are the three patriarchs of the faith with whom God confirmed and reconfirmed His covenant. When praying in the name of these three men, it reminded God of His everlasting promise toward the seed ofAbraham. When God prepared to destroy Israel in the wilderness and raise up a new nation through Moses, the prophet Moses reminded God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and of His covenant— and God immediately relented (changed His mind) and spared Israel (Exod. 32:13–14). Under the new covenant, we approach God through the name of Jesus Christ, because Christ initiated a new covenant through His death and resurrection:
