He was sharing this story after he was completely healed and had returned to the church to testify. 8 My first impression was that if he could hear many, many voices of family and friends, praying all at once, and yet hear each voice and what each was saying, then the spirit world has the ability to see many things at once and hear many things all at once. Other people have testified to departing from their bodies and actually seeing the words of their families’ prayers in the heavens and of hearing their voices as they prayed for them. There are times when we pray simple prayers, and there are other occasions when we must intercede for an extended period in a deeper form of prayer or travail. As we learn how to communicate with God and gain personal experience through our prayer lives, we progress upward on that spiritual ladder, from prayers in the house of God to answers at the gate of heaven. P RAYER I S W ORDS AND N OT J UST T HOUGHTS In the biblical narratives of both testaments, prayers consisted of words and not just thoughts. I say this because there are many people who speak of silent prayers in order to be politically correct and not offend someone of another faith. So they say, “Let us bow our heads for a moment of silence,” or
