Opening the Gates of Heaven Perry Stone

• Am I giving without having a true covenant with God?

I have actually heard people teach that giving a huge offering will force the hand of God into moving on their behalf. It is as though the person is saying, “I will do something so great that God will be forced to bless me.” If this were true, how does one explain poor third-world countries where people have nothing to give yet attend meetings and see amazing healings and miracles occur through the prayer of faith? God is not moved by the amount of our gift as much as by the amount of our faith and obedience . Christ is touched by the “feeling of our infirmities” (Heb. 4:15, KJV ), but His blessings are released by faith (Heb. 11:6). If the needs of people were the motivating force for releasing God’s power toward man, then God’s power would be released in every nation of the world twenty-four hours a day, because the entire world is full of serious needs. God, however, is moved by our faith and not just our needs.

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. —H EBREWS 11:6
