If I only teach that the seed is your money and our ministry is the soil, then the implication is that the blessings that come to a person for his or her giving are based upon how successful our ministry is or on how we are using the money that was given. This concept cannot be completely accurate for several reasons. Some people have given offerings to ministries that ended up with leadership leading abusive lifestyles or perhaps misusing the funds. Yet, despite these negative actions, honest people who gave to the ministry testified of how God blessed them for giving. Other believers have given offerings to ministries that have been reaching masses in North America and overseas, and yet the givers have not personally experienced any major financial breakthroughs. This lack of breakthrough seems like a contradiction. One group gives and the receiver is abusive, while another gives and the receiver is honest. Yet the results from the seed vary. The answer to this paradox may lie in the soil! Throughout my ministry I considered the work I was doing for God the soil that the seed (offerings) were being planted in to produce the harvest. The money is turned into ministry products, airtime, salaries for workers, and the printing of books and magazines, and in return, it
