which was birthed in the latter 1940s, near the time Israel was restored as a nation in 1948. During this season of American church history, numerous evangelists were crisscrossing the nation, erecting large tent cathedrals, and conducting area-wide healing campaigns, often seeing crowds of ten to fifteen thousand each night! The cost for such an operation was enormous. Each night during the service, freewill offerings were received, which were applied to the expenses of the meeting and provided general support for the evangelistic ministry. It was during the early days of these meetings when the concept called seed faith was taught. Many ministers were raised on farms, and they likened the money people were giving to a farmer planting seeds in the earth in expectation of a harvest when the crops were grown. It was pointed out that a farmer who refused to plant a seed in the field would never receive a harvest. Likewise, if a Christian refused to plant his seed, then how could he expect a harvest? One verse that pointed out the seed-harvest principle was in Galatians 6:7, which reads: “Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.” The seed-faith concept says that if we sow money, we can expect some form of financial remuneration or blessing in return.
