specific season or set moment. God’s main seasons and yearly cycles are found in the seven feasts of Israel. In Hebrew these feasts are called moedim (plural form), or in English they are called an appointed season ( moed in Hebrew). These seven appointed times occur each year at the same time on the Jewish calendar. The day and the month remain set during each year. However, because of the lunar calendar, the months vary as to when the feasts occur. Since the lunar calendar is an average of eleven days shorter than the solar, to keep the spring feast in the spring months, the Jews add an additional month called Adar II to the third, sixth, eighth, eleventh, fourteenth, seventeenth, and nineteenth years of the calendar cycle. This ensures that Passover remains in the spring and does not eventually drop back into the winter months. This following chart explains the English and Hebrew names of the feasts, the month they occur, the event they commemorate, and the past or future prophetic fulfillment.
