I shot back, “I am going to pray NOW!” We stood up, and when I opened my mouth, I was not praying in English but in some form of Middle Eastern dialect. I heard the Muslim man say something to my interpreter, but I continued to pray. The prayer in the “unknown language” (unknown to me) was actually known to the Muslim. After I concluded, my interpreter said, “The man told me he thought you could not speak any language and wondered why you were speaking Farsi, which is the same language spoken among the Persians [in Iran].” He continued, “I told him it was the Holy Ghost and the Spirit of God in you!” I found out that the Holy Spirit revealed to this man that he had a bad heart and needed to be healed. The Lord told him that if he would believe on Christ, he would be cured! According to Esam, the Lord did touch this man. This is an example of the listener receiving the interpretation in a language he understood, even though I did not know the language in which I was praying. If a person lacks wisdom and asks God for wisdom, without wavering, the Lord will liberally impart wisdom to any who desire the blessing (James 1:5). Likewise, if a believer who speaks in tongues through the prayer language of the Spirit asks God for the interpretation, the Lord will grant understanding. Never underestimate the significance of allowing the Holy Spirit to direct your prayer. It begins in the mind, then moves into your spirit. At times the language of your
