the world of visions and dreams. 11 The gift of interpreting tongues is imparted by the Holy Spirit. However, I believe that when Dad ministered with Rufus, it was this powerful minister who taught Dad the importance of praying for the interpretation. If you pray in a prayer language, then you may be interpreting what the Spirit is praying without actually realizing it. For example, I always begin my prayers with worship to the Lord and by magnifying His name. Worship then flows into a time of boasting upon the goodness of God and telling Him of my love and appreciation for His blessings. This is always prayed in English, the only language I speak. Eventually, I will begin to focus on a certain aspect of the ministry (perhaps a coming conference or the need for a message to preach), and the language will move from English to a particular prayer language. As I enter into a deeper level of prayer, my mind will begin to shift from my present focus to perhaps a burden I have for my children or a need a friend has that concerns me. As I pray in the Spirit, I begin to sense the prayer burden shift from my main focus to another situation. This occurred for years before I realized that it was not my mind being distracted, but the Holy Spirit was inspiring my thoughts toward the same direction as the Holy Spirit. When we think of interpreting something, we think of speaking out loud by saying, “Thus says the Lord … ,” and this is the correct pattern for interpreting tongues in a
