spent hours in an altar service, staying until the last person was prayed for. One of our relatives had a granddaughter who had an afflicted leg that she painfully dragged around. Dad anointed a prayer cloth and told the grandmother to place the cloth over the leg. The girl was healed! It is so exciting to realize that this method of prayer can be used to reach those who cannot reach us. I know some will say, “I don’t believe in all of that.” Well, as the old-timers used to say, “The proof is in the pudding.” Those who saw their loved ones saved as a result of their faith and obedience will never be convinced that it doesn’t work; they saw the proof with their own eyes that God honors faith and obedience. G OD U SES P EOPLE AND T HINGS Moses was commanded to use his rod as a sign of God’s power (Exod. 4:17). Moses also built a brass serpent, and those bitten by poisonous vipers were cured when they looked upon the brazen serpent on the pole (Num. 21:8–9). Gideon took three hundred clay pitchers with lamps, jars , and three hundred trumpets and defeated the Midianites (Judg. 7:16–22). Samson took the jawbone of a dead donkey and slew a thousand Philistines (Judg. 15:15). Shamgar defeated six hundred men with the weapon of an ox goad (Judg. 3:31). David’s faith tool was his slingshot, which he used to deck Goliath (1 Sam. 17:50). King Hezekiah was cured after placing a lump of figs on his diseased wound (Isa. 38:21). God gave the
