God enables a person to experience and feel! However, it is much more than that, and the anointing will make a difference in your worship, prayer life, and personal ministry to others. Since childhood, I have observed many altar services and thousands of prayers that were prayed for the needs of men and women. The most effective prayer is prayed with the anointing of the Holy Spirit. The word anoint is first mentioned in the English Bible in Exodus 28:41, where Aaron and his sons were anointed with holy oil. The Hebrew word for “anoint” is from the root mashach , which means “to rub with oil.” Olive oil was the main substance used in the process of anointing a man. The anointing was used as a public mark of separation unto God. Scripture records that Saul, David, and Solomon were anointed with oil as the first three monarch kings prior to the division of the Northern and Southern tribes (1 Sam. 10:1; 16:13; 1 Kings 1:39). The high priest was to be anointed with oil (Lev. 8:12), and the prophets were anointed, although the biblical record indicated the anointing of the prophets and judges was imparted directly by the Holy Spirit Himself (Judg. 3:10; 6:34; 11:29; 14:6). There are two ways to preach , sing, and minister— with the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and without the anointing of the Holy Spirit. In 1 John 2:20, we read, “But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and you know all things.” This Greek word for “anointing” is chrisma, meaning “something that is smeared upon.” Figuratively it alludes
