When they said it was “his angel,” this indicated they believed Peter had a personal angel that went with him. We would call them guardian angels today. If you are a believer and are attempting to raise your household in the faith, then I believe there is an angel of the Lord that is assigned to your family. Years ago my father saw in a vision his brother Morgan being killed in a car accident in West Virginia. After prayer for more than an hour, the Holy Spirit told Dad that he was praying for Him to protect a person who had willfully turned from the truth and was no longer walking in the covenant. As Dad continued praying, he recalled a vision of an angel he had seen many years earlier while pastoring in Northern Virginia. The Lord impressed Dad to ask his angel—the one assigned to him—to go to West Virginia and protect Morgan from death. Dad prayed a mighty prayer with a strong unction. Later that day Dad discovered that Morgan came close to being hit by a coal truck and killed. The event brought Morgan back into a relationship with the Lord. Dad had been praying for Morgan’s salvation for forty years! When we are in a battle for our firstborn, or a battle for any child or grandchild, we must continually ask the Lord for supernatural protection from angels to prevent a premature death.
