Opening the Gates of Heaven Perry Stone

The “things in heaven” refer to the original sacred furniture in the heavenly temple, such as the seven branched candlestick (Rev. 1:20), a golden altar (Rev. 8:3– 4), and the ark of the covenant (Rev. 11:19). This temple is the original temple of God that preexisted prior to Adam’s creation. In this temple the sons of God (angels) rejoiced and sang during the creation of the heavens and the earth (Job 38:4–7). Satan was among them, perhaps even directing the worship on the holy mountain (Ezek. 28:14). When Satan made his attempt to direct a rebellion in heaven against God, it occurred in the presence of the throne room in the sacred holy mountain (vv. 14–15). Thus, sin originated with Satan, and the sacred vessels in the heavenly temple needed to be purified with the blood of Christ.

But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. —H EBREWS 9:11–12

This heavenly purification occurred between the moment that Mary saw Christ early resurrection morning
