Chapter 3 3 Dunamis

And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high. Luke 24:49 The Church started with momentum. The day of Pentecost was a day of momentum for the Church. Dunamis is the Greek word for power. Dunamis gives the Church momentum. Momentum is the result of power. The more powerful a thing becomes, the more momentum it carries, and the more momentum a thing receives the more power it has. Momentum and impact are related to THRUST. To thrust means to push or drive with force. The force needed to thrust the Church forward was "dunamis", the power of the Holy Ghost. The day of Pentecost gave the Church the momentum it needed to invade the world with the gospel. From Jerusalem, the Church moved forward with and maintained its momentum to impact the world with the message of Salvation. ...and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. Acts 2:41 Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand. Acts 4:4
