Known to the ancients as ‘the sixth sense,’ this extraordinary life-force which makes it possible to open ‘the third eye’ is located at the base of the spine, and can provide an inexhaustible reserve of energy and knowledge!” Alice Bailey, an occultist, declared: “Through the practice of the power of visualization the third eye is developed.” Bailey also wrote: “No man is a magician or worker in white magic until the third eye is opened, or in process of opening, for it is by means of that eye that the thought form is energised, directed and controlled, and the lesser builders are swept into any particular line of activity.... “The ‘Eye of Shiva’ in the human being has its position... in the centre of the forehead, between the two physical eyes.” [Emphasis in the original]
