In Masonic symbolism, we find that the Rainbow appears as the representation of Lucifer, the Light Bearer. The rainbow bridge (also called the antahkarana) is referred to frequently by the New Age movement and is found repeatedly in occult literature. One Christian author explains: “In the occult, the rainbow is a hypnotic device supposedly forming a bridge between the individual and the over-soul or Great Universal Mind. This ‘Mind’ is not God.”
Lynn F. Perkins, a Mason and author of Masonry in the New Age, reveals the following about the antahkarana: “Masons, as ‘Builders of a Spiritual Fabric,’ should become familiar with this old Hindu term. It refers to the ‘Bridge’ or ‘Pathway’ that every human being is consciously or unconsciously building between his ‘lower self’ and his ‘High-Self,’ between his imperfect self and his perfect self. The process of the ‘Builder’ never ceases FROM LIFE TO LIFE EITHER IN OR OUT OF A PHYSICAL BODY. The ‘rough stone’ ultimately becomes the ‘Perfect Ashlar.’” In passing, notice that Perkins is also promoting REINCARNATION by his remark about “life to life”!
