Mikhail Gorbachev also calls for unity in diversity. Addressing the United Nations (U.N.) on December 7, 1988, Gorbachev; “praised the ‘ tremendous impetus to mankind’s progress' that came from the French and Russian revolutions, and he called for a new role for the U.N., saying: ‘ World progress is only possible through a search for universal human consensus as we move forward to a new world order.... What we are talking about...is unity in diversity.' (The Newsweek article regarding this on December 19, 1988, was titled, ‘Brave New World.’)” [Italics in the original; Boldface added] Gorbachev, who was president of Russia, is now the President of the Green Cross International. Their logo appears below. (Notice the yin/yang in the logo.)

The Gorbachev Foundation USA is based at the Presidio in San Francisco, California. Below is the Presidio Alliance’s logo. They have the same logo as the United Religions Initiative which was seeking to set up their headquarters at Presidio.

It is also interesting to note that Russia has now changed their symbol of the hammer and sickle to that of the two-headed eagle. (The eagle symbolism is covered elsewhere in this book.)
