Beelzebub. Both Baal and Beelzebub are identical to the dung beetle or scarabaeus of the Egyptians which appeared to resurrect itself, much as the mythical bird, the phoenix, rose from its own ashes.” Matthew 12:24 says that Beelzebub is the prince of the devils, so this is what the scarab is actually representing! (See also Luke 11:15 and Mark 3:22.) The scarab is also a symbol of fertility and “one of the most ancient symbols of deity....” Additionally, scarabs were used as powerful amulets for healing and magic. In fact, one of the tools of the magician is listed as the scarab. Since Masonry is based mainly on Egyptian mythology, it is no surprise to find that the scarab is featured on the 25° Masonic apron along with the serpent with his tail in his mouth (the oroboros). To the alchemists the goat's head was the symbol of sulphur.” In Matthew 25 we find that Christ will separate the sheep from the goats: “When the Son of man shall come in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then shall He sit upon the throne of His glory: And before Him shall be gathered all nations: and He shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And He shall set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on His right hand, Come, ye blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world....Then shall He say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from Me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:... And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal” (Matthew 25:31-34, 41, 46). Seeing that the occult world believes that the goat represents Satan, it is fascinating to see what the occultist, Alice Bailey, teaches about this passage of Scripture. She discloses:
