Bhajan’s full formal name is Siri Singh Sahib Harbhajan Singh Khalsa Yogi. Siri Singh Sahib is a title conferred on him by the center of Sikh religious authority in Amritsar. He was born Harbhajan Singh in Kot Harkan, Tehsil Wazirabad, India (now Pakistan) on August 29, 1929. Khalsa is an adopted last name that replaces the family name with which he was born. His family name indicates the subcaste of his family in the Hindu caste system, and Sikhism generally opposes that system.... “Bhajan worked as a customs official and Interpol officer from 1954 to 1969, when he came to the United States and founded the 3HO Foundation (1620 Preuss Rd., Los Angeles, CA 90035), which he has continued to direct.
