Masonic & Occult Symbols Illustrate

This is why the symbol of the humanist is the “Happy Man.” Man is supposedly sufficient in and of himself. There is no God in humanist theology. As humanist Corliss Lamont states: “In the Humanist ethics the chief end of thought and action is to further this earthly human interests in behalf of the greater glory of man. The watchword of Humanism is happiness for all humanity in this existence as contrasted with salvation for the individual soul in a future existence and the glorification of a supernatural Supreme Being.” “For his great achievements man, utilizing the resources and the laws of Nature, yet without Divine aid, can take full credit. Similarly, for his shortcomings he must take full responsibility. HUMANISM ASSIGNS TO MAN NOTHING LESS THAN THE TASK OF BEING HIS OWN SAVIOUR AND REDEEMER.” “By laying stress on the beauty of Nature, Humanism becomes able to make one of the most powerful and persuasive of all affirmations....There is no heavenly Father in or behind Nature....” Humanism, then, simply is a religion of SELF. Man is the redeemer, man is the creator, man is all there is and all that really counts. The Bible tells us that the emphasis on self would take place in the last days. Paul wrote: “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come, FOR MEN SHALL BE LOVERS OF THEIR OWN SELVES” (II Tim. 3:l-2a). Christ came to redeem mankind from their selfish ways and desires. Isaiah 53:6 clearly says: “All we like sheep have gone astray. WE HAVE TURNED EVERYONE TO HIS OWN WAY and the Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” As mentioned at the beginning of this chapter, the “Happy Man” is the most universal humanist symbol. I found it quite fascinating that the June 1998 issue of The Emergence (which is the newsletter put out by Benjamin Creme who is supposed to be the forerunner of the Maitreya) claimed: “Maitreya actually means ‘The Happy One’ —the one who brings happiness to the world.” Seeing that humanism is a religion for the New Age and that Maitreya is the New Age “Christ,” I think the correlation is noteworthy. Another New Age organization is the 3HO which stands for “Healthy, Happy, Holy.”
