woman. If Boaz was attracted to Ruth in the field, he would be more impressed when she was dressed up and looking like a lady! Naomi then said, "Get thee down to the floor" (Ruth 3:3). This is where the breakthrough comes—when we get to the floor on our knees in prayer, and spend time with our heavenly Boaz! G ET D OWN ON THE F LOOR It was time to get down to business, down to where the rubber meets the road. This was the hour of decision. This was the time for divine reversal. It was the moment both Naomi and Ruth needed in order to change their destiny. Boaz was the man to do it. Yet, in order to receive a complete hundred-fold blessing, you have to spend time with Boaz on the floor. This is not intended to sound crude or carnal. In the spiritual application, spending time on the floor is spending time in deep intimate prayer and worship before the Lord. Ruth had known Boaz as a stranger, then as the boss of her workplace, and as a unique friend. Spurred on by Naomi, Ruth was now moving the relationship to another level. Naomi gave Ruth explicit instructions about what to do when she entered Boaz's presence. Specifically, she told her that she was to mark the spot where Boaz lay.
