Jesus who was called a “friend of sinners” (Matt. 11:19), so I was in good company. U SING THE W ORLD S YSTEM Another statement was made in Luke, in reference to being a good steward and being faithful in little: “The children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light” (Luke 16:8). How is the world wiser that the children of God? Consider many of the inventions over the past one hundred years. In the 1920s, what if Christian businessmen had seized the opportunity to become involved in the first major radio station? What if the same had occurred with the invention of television, satellite or Internet? In the earlier days of the Full Gospel movement, television was considered an evil tool among some and the Internet was thought to be the future mark of the beast system. Thus, at first these forms of technology were avoided because they were thought to be evil. In reality, both have served as the most powerful tools in world history to take the gospel to the nations. Had strong believers gotten their foot in the door with these early inventions, the world would be spending millions to use these resources, and believers would have an abundance of income to use for the needs of global ministry. Scriptures are often used to indicate the danger of mixing the spiritual with the mundane and the world’s system of operation. Love not the world neither the things that are in the world....
