The following day the community assessed the damage from several tornados that had touched down that day, including an F-4 that struck certain parts of the city. I later learned that the F-4 storm was spinning in the direction of the homes of four of my staff members and headed in the direction of the two metal office buildings of the Voice of Evangelism. Eye witnesses said the storm split and moved in different directions about two miles from our offices. Other than a partially broken awning, there was no other damage. I believe it was the prayer of 225 people, speaking to and rebuking the storm, which moved the hand of the Lord to split the storm. For that we are very grateful. Remember that spiritual principles are superior to natural laws and can trump the set laws of nature. Christ set new laws when He taught that we should give in order to receive, pray for our enemies instead of cursing them, turn the other cheek and not retaliate, and love your enemies as yourself (Matt. 5:38-44). While these instructions are the opposite of human nature, they reveal that obedience to the spiritual laws are the real source of favor and blessing from the Lord, and that God who created all laws can alter them on behalf of His followers. Once believers understand this principle, it will be impossible to struggle with tithing and giving. They will understand that this spiritual seed grows to produce a spiritual harvest.
